Origin

Originally from Slovenia. It was a major crop in the 1930s in both Styria (Austria and across the Saninja River in Slovenia). It was originally imported into the USA in the 1930s from England. They thought it was a Golding (as the name implies) but is actually from the Fuggle family. As it acclimatized to the New World it has developed a more delicate “continental profile” while still exhibiting many Fuggle like characteristics.
